Westinghouse
I was married to TV’s Julia Morris for 15 years, and in that time helped write much of Julia’s non-standup material. When Westinghouse hired Julia in 2015, the initial creative didn’t capture her voice, so I offered to help. The resulting three TVCs set Julia as a ‘hopeless mum’ to highlight Westinghouse’s innovative product features. The creative scored off the charts in Millward Brown (top 3% for brand appeal) and Westinghouse ran the campaign for four years.
Homestar Finance
Homestar Finance approached Julia to be the face of their brand in late 2020. They didn’t have a marketing director at the time, so I helped them develop their strategy and wrote the launch TVC. Julia’s national presence had grown and her comedy voice had moved on since the Westinghouse work, so we set her up as a ‘deluded-celebrity’ and applied it to finance, with Homestar as the hero.
All About Me Films
I create all the marketing assets for my niche film company All About Me Films, which saves people’s life stories in beautiful 60 minute long documentary interview films. At the core of the thinking is how much more of the essential ‘you’ a biographical interview film saves vs a written memoir (or worse, nothing). I grew the brand to over 6,000 followers on Instagram since launch in late 2022.
